Re-Elect Emilie Mitcham
for
Mountain View Mayor

Mountain View is more than a town—it’s a community of neighbors who care deeply about each other and about the future. Serving as your Mayor has been the greatest honor of my life, and together we’ve made incredible progress.

Over these past four years, I’ve been inspired by the ways we’ve rolled up our sleeves and built a stronger, more sustainable future together.

I’m running for re-election because I believe the best is yet to come.

All government should strive mightily to be inclusive. Not just because it is the right thing to do, but because more engaged voices create more comprehensive and effective solutions.

Our Progress Together

Not long ago, our town was just “getting by”—putting off infrastructure repairs, struggling to make ends meet, and operating without a long-term plan. Together, we’ve turned that corner.

  • Updated our Comprehensive Plan (after 20 years!) so we can plan thoughtfully for the future.
  • Adopted annual Council goals to keep leadership aligned and accountable.
  • Invested in long-deferred maintenance so our infrastructure serves us well for years to come.
  • Modernized our website and municipal code to make government more accessible and transparent.
  • Strengthened public safety by supporting community policing and launching automated enforcement on Sheridan Boulevard, freeing officers to spend more time serving residents inside town.

These changes may sound technical, but they add up to something simple: a town that works better for its people.

Building on Strong Foundations

I’m grateful for those who came before me—like Mayor Glenn Levy, who started professionalizing our systems and secured critical grant funding. Like Mayor Jeff Kiddie who brought one trash company to our Town and reduced wear and tear on our streets and noise in our alleys. And like Mayor Betty Van Harte, who worked with residents to create the first Comprehensive Plan and helped preserve our history. My focus has been to continue that momentum, taking the early steps forward and turning them into long-term progress.

Why I’m Running Again

Our little town has made incredible strides, but this work doesn’t happen overnight. It takes years of consistency, collaboration, and commitment from all of us—not just elected officials.

As your Mayor, I want to keep leading with a friendly, forward-looking, community-oriented approach. Together, we can:

  • Keep Mountain View financially sustainable as an independent, thriving town.
  • Strengthen community connections and make sure all voices are heard.
  • Plan for the future while honoring the close-knit, neighborly spirit that makes Mountain View so special.

Join Me in Moving Mountain View Forward

The progress we’ve made is proof of what’s possible when neighbors come together with shared purpose. With your support, we can keep building a town that is strong, welcoming, and ready for the future.

Leadership you know. A town that thrives.
